Our Story

The Teen Mom Project was born from a personal journey of resilience and the unwavering belief that every young mother deserves a chance to thrive. The founder of this organization Tiffany Aponte, at 16, found herself facing the challenges of motherhood with little support. She experienced homelessness, uncertainty, and a system that was ill-equipped to help someone in her situation. But through determination, she broke the cycle of hardship and poverty.

This project is deeply rooted in our desire to ensure that no other young mother has to navigate their journey alone. We are committed to providing the support, resources, and community that Tiffany so desperately needed during her toughest times.

Our logo—a purple lotus flower—embodies the essence of The Teen Mom Project. The lotus flower symbolizes rebirth, persistence, and the ability to overcome life's challenges.

Just like the lotus that blooms beautifully even in the most difficult terrain, we believe that with the right support, teen moms can emerge from their struggles stronger and more resilient.
